Number Blocks

Ways to use it

  • Start with three blocks and allow your baby to explore
  • Stack the blocks for your baby and see their joy in knocking them down
  • Around 9-10 months your baby may start to bang the blocks together
  • Around 12 months your baby may start to stack two blocks, allow them to do this themselves as they explore cause and effect
  • Around 12-18 months your baby may stack three blocks and begin to better understand stacking and knocking them down
  • Swap out the different numbers and letters and say them out loud as your baby stacks them, giving your baby exposure to language and numbers
  • As your child grows you can start to introduce number sequences and arranging the number blocks in order

Bonus: use the number blocks for their monthly milestone pictures

Research

These stackable blocks are great for cognitive development, such as spatial relationships and sensory stimulation. Your baby is learning through trial and error and building cognitive connections. By knocking down the blocks your baby is beginning to understand cause and effect, and the power of their bodies. Stacking blocks teaches your child about gravity, weight, and balance. The number blocks are great for your baby to bang together, uncover stacking and knocking objects down, as well as giving your baby early exposure to numbers.
